Big Brother

Big Brother

As a part of our ongoing customer support via the cloud, we have implemented a network monitoring system. This monitoring is based on the Big Brother monitoring package by Sean MacGuire and The MacLawran Group Inc. Big Brother connects to customer sites via Telnet and FTP on a regular basis to confirm that the Internet path between our office and the customer's firewall is still intact. This data is then used to display connectivity status data to us to help us isolate any network problems as quickly as possible in order to reduce the duration of any outages.

You may see samples of Big Brother in action by following any of the links on the Big Brother Demo page. We are specifically not allowing public access to our network status page for security reasons. If you are a customer of ours whose connectivity we are monitoring, you may gain access to the status page by sending a message to the WebMaster.System Monitoring File - The system-monitoring file allows remote viewing of process information for system processes like replication, logging, eCommerce and the Job Processor. The SYSMON file resides in the Cove root directory and is updated by running processes. The monitoring program FV000S01 is used to view process status and control information. For more information see: System Monitoring Doc
